Panasonic’s new Universal Home Theater Viera remote may look a bit overwhelming at first glance, but its functionality is pretty darn swell. Viera Link is Panasonic’s name for its HDMI control interface technology and this Viera remote is the first of its kind to make use of it.
This sophisticated to remote makes use of the ability to carry out commmands systemwide, rather than just through audio, video and DRM. This translates into super easy universal control of all of your HDMI home theater equipment and no worries about which IR you might be aiming at (or missing). The Viera remote’s signal will simply travel over the HDMI wires to the correct piece of media equipment. Unfortunately, this currently only works with Panasonic equipment, but if you happen to live in an HD panasonic home, you should run right out and get one of these.
